Mother in Art

with Alexandra Lawrence & Thomas Bendix
conversation with storytelling and paper theatre

16th May 2021

We will be exploring representations of Mother in Art from the ancestral mother Gaia in mythology to the Madonna and Child in Renaissance art to modern expressions – tip-toeing over a world of possibilities!

Alexandra Lawrence is the founder of Forma Sideris, a Latin phrase referring to the many-pointed shape of a star; a space for guided conversations, to discuss books and exhibitions, beautiful images, a space for meaningful encounters with historical figures, places that have left an indelible mark, and magical realisations borne out of collaborations with other creative souls..

‘The Mother Art is architecture. Without an architecture of our own we have no soul of our own civilisation.’ Frank Lloyd Wright
